Background: Mariella was born in the de Steichen family in Luxembourg - she was of noble by birth. Her childhood consisted of much pampering in luxury. Instead of using her time for leisure, she studied to became multi-talented. For one, she learned how to speak German, Dutch, French, as well as her own native language fluently without a flaw. With the help of her parents' money, she became interested in music, reading, and art and was able to go deep in her studies and hobbies at a young age. Her talents with the viola and the harp deemed her as the prodigy of the household. She lived her life contently until she was eleven when both of her parents supposedly died in a car crash. Her riches was stored away and according to the will, she was not able to use her inheritance until she hits eighteen.

At such an age, it was evident that she would need a lot of help to recover. Being the only child, she frankly had no one left. As if God had forsaken her, all of the ones who worked in her household robbed her mansion of her family's possessions with only a few precious remnants tucked away in the cellar. It was only years later did she learn that it was a conspiracy.

Long story short, she was able to avoid being kidnapped with the help with some family acquaintances and then was adopted into the Vanackere family where she remained. She terminated 'de Steichen' from her surname for safety reasons and would refuse to talk about anything regarding that topic.The tragedies inflicted a negative effect on her; she became sour, rude, pompous and short-tempered. Most of her teen years was in misery and she struggled to seek happiness through the reading, writing, and drinking alcohol. Fortunately, she was able to recover with much thanks to her two older siblings, Belle and Holland, and was able to grow very attached to them.

When she hit eighteen, she willingly left the household with all of her inheritance, yet gave about one-third of her money to her parents. Henceforth, she lives in Gauken Hetalia to learn until she gets to college.

She may look like a stuck-up all the time, but to be honest, she is only so sometimes. It is a habit for her to degrade and judge other people for her sharp tongue and stubborn mind is only a natural mental defense for herself. Her hot temper is just another way of promoting her self-esteem since she is quite a petite lady. Beneath the facade of make-up, short skirts, and fierce, solemn expressions, she is quite sincere and bashful. Though it is rare if she does not know the other person well.


Out of character: Ah shit I was too creative huh? Her past doesn't really matter honestly; I just felt like I needed to put in something cool. Okay well at any rate, she can be one of the bullies. As you all might be able to tell, she's those typical short rich-snobby kind of girls, but not too extreme. I'm really too nice.

(No problem, Luxembourgish is a pain, as is Flemish but my Dutch is still beginner as well, so we will both learn as we go and Mathias[Danmark] and myself have a back story of him knowing us and Holland since us three went to school with each other thus knows you as well, sorta.

Yeah, I did as well but he always did have a way with learning and it was something that no one thought he would do, so he did it. Mathias always liked to surprise people, brother and myself are included in that one.
